Call for Artists and Authors –
MAKETRICKS COLLECTIVE ARTS, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Fairfield, Iowa, in proud collaboration with the Heartland Poet Society, invites local and regional artists and authors to take part in the Southeast Iowa Art & Book Fair, happening Friday, August 16th, 2025, at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center from 10 AM to 4 PM.
This all-ages, free-to-the-public community event is a celebration of the creative voices that make Southeast Iowa a cultural gem. We are seeking visual artists, craft makers, poets, writers, and independent authors to showcase and sell their work in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Exhibit and sell original art or books
Connect with other creatives, writers, and supporters
Engage with an audience eager to support local arts and storytelling
Be featured in promotional materials and marketing efforts leading up to the event
This is more than just a fair — it’s a platform for building community and empowering local talent. Whether you're an emerging artist or a seasoned author, this event offers a unique space to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

We are still accepting final submissions for the Southeast Iowa Art & Book Fair!
The deadline to apply is Thursday, July 31, 2025, by the end of the day (11:59 PM CST).
Selected artists and authors will be featured in our printed materials, on-site signage, and promotional media. Don’t miss this opportunity to share your work with a supportive, engaged community and be part of a juried lineup of talented creatives from across Southeast Iowa.
